Yellow Bullet

Posted in Supplement Product Highlights on November 12, 2008 by ahtran2

Today’s product highlight is Yellow Bullet by Delta Health Products. Being one of the few products available that actually contain ephedra, Yellow Bullet’s formula is composed of a blend containing 25mg of ephedra extract as well as 300mg of caffeine. Formerly, this product contained ephedra alkaloids. The ephedra extract is in the new version, which is advertised as a more powerful formula. Whether or not this new Yellow Bullet is better than the original remains to be seen. We’ll have to wait for feedback from customers who have recently purchased this product.

Right after Diet Pill Lipodrene, Yellow Bullet is the second best selling ephedra product on our website. It also ranks in the top ten of all items sold.

Syntha-6

Posted in Supplement Product Reviews on November 10, 2008 by ahtran2

BSN is one of the juggernauts in the supplement industry. They recently signed on to sponsor the UFC and are the makers of many popular products including Nitrix, NO-Xplode and Cellmass.

Today I would like to talk about their protein, Syntha-6. It contains slow, medium and fast digesting proteins. Although low in carbs and lactose, the major drawback to Syntha-6 is its high cholesterol content. With 60mg per scoop, if you take 3 servings of Syntha-6 at 2 scoops per serving, that’s 360mg of cholesterol per day. This is equivalent to about 2 egg yolks. Cholesterol aside, Syntha-6 is one of the best tasting proteins on the market. All flavors taste delicious. Chocolate, Vanilla and Cookies & Cream taste just like melted ice cream. Those looking for a great tasting protein should give Syntha-6 a try. However, those on a strict diet may be turned away by the high cholesterol content.

Muscle Milk Protein

Posted in Supplement Product Reviews on November 6, 2008 by ahtran2

Cytosport specializes in making high quality products at low prices. Their flagship products are Muscle Milk Protein and CytoGainer.

Today I would like to highlight their Muscle Milk protein. This product is great for lean muscle growth and fast exercise recovery. Muscle Milk Protein is probably one of the best tasting proteins on the market. The new formula has been much improved over the original. Previously containing 18g of fat and nearly 350 calories per serving, Muscle Milk Protein now has 12g of fat and only 300 calories.

At first glance you might say, that’s still a lot fat compared to other protein products. These fats are actually lean lipids comprised of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) and long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. As a result, the fats in Muscle Milk Protein are burned for muscle energy instead of stored as fat. This is a common misconception many people have with Muscle Milk. People look at the fat content with disappointment and immediately move on to the next product. The important thing to understand is Muscle Milk Protein will help you get leaner due to the type of fats contained in this product. Now, if you take Muscle Milk 3-4 times a day and don’t workout or train, then yes, you will get fat since none of the fats are being used for energy.

In summary, Muscle Milk Protein is a very good protein product once you get past the fat content and actually understand what it is composed of and how it works. With over 20 flavors to choose from, everyone is sure to find one or more that suits his/her tastes.

Optimum 100% Whey Protein

Posted in Supplement Product Reviews on November 5, 2008 by ahtran2

Optimum Nutrition is a supplement company that has been around for many years. They produce a full line of products from creatine to vitamins to protein powder.

One of the most popular whey products on the market right now is their 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard. Composed mostly of whey protein isolates, Optimum’s 100% Whey Protein contains more than 5 grams of BCAAs as wells as over 4 grams of glutamine. As far as taste, this product ranks up there in at least the top ten. BSN’s Syntha-6 and Cytosport’s Muscle Milk probably taste better, but their product profiles are less than stellar with lots of fat and cholesterol content. Combining the quality and taste, Optimum 100% Whey Protein is a great value in my opinion.
